5GRAMMAR 語法
If you used to do something, you did it regularly or for a period of time in the past. Use the infinitive without ‘to’ after used to , not the past tense. used to do something 表示過去經常做某事或過去某段時間裏做過某事。used to 後用不帶 to 的不定式而不用過去式
My dad used to grow vegetables (NOT 不說 used to grew vegetables).
我爸爸過去種蔬菜。
For talking about a present habit, use usually. 表示現在的習慣要用 usually
We usually eat (NOT 不說 use to eat) around six.
我們通常 6 點前後吃飯。
⁑ Do not confuse ‘I used to do something’ and ‘I’m used to doing something’. 不要混淆 I used to do something I’m used to doing something
nUSAGE: Used to do sth, be used to something
Don't confuse I used to do something and I am used to (doing) something.
You say
I used to live in Paris
when you lived in Paris in the past, but you do not live there now. In this meaning, used to is followed by the base form of the verb (=the infinitive without 'to').
You say
I'm used to living in Paris
when you are accustomed to living in Paris because you have lived there for some time.
Be used to is followed by an -ing form, not the infinitive. Don't say: I'm used to live in Paris.
